1.What is Darpan Registration?

Darpan registration refers to the process of registering a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or Voluntary Organization (VO) on the NGO Darpan portal, an online platform maintained by NITI Aayog. It serves as a centralized database for NGOs and VOs in India, facilitating their interaction with government agencies and promoting transparency within the non-profit sector.

2.Who is eligible for DARPAN registration among trusts?

To be eligible for Darpan registration, a trust must be legally registered in India under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, or applicable state laws, and it must be actively engaged in charitable or non-profit activities. Additionally, the trust needs a valid PAN card in its name, a working bank account, and must not be involved in political activities.

3.Documents required for the registration process:

  • Registration Certificate
  • NGO PAN Card
  • Memorandum of Association (MOA) or Trust Deed
  • Address Proof (e.g., utility bill, rental agreement).
  • Details and documents of Governing Body Members.
  • Details of Activities and Geographical Scope
  • Grant and Donation Records

4.DARPAN Registration Process:

  • Step 1- Go to the official website https://ngodarpan.gov.in

  • Step 2- Sign up to Create a new account

  • Step 3-Provide an Email ID and Mobile number. Verify with OTP .

  • Step 4- Login using the newly shared logins (Update and create a MPIN)

  • Step 5- Fill in the additional Organization details.

  • Step 6- Add governing body members (at least 3 members) and need witness details (should not be an office bear).

  • Step 8- Submit and e-sign and await approval.
  • Step 9- Use DARPAN ID for availing Government Schemes

  • This is the sample of the registered certificate includes the registered entity name and its unique DARPAN identification number.
