Darpan registration refers to the process of registering a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or Voluntary Organization (VO) on the NGO Darpan portal, an online platform maintained by NITI Aayog. It serves as a centralized database for NGOs and VOs in India, facilitating their interaction with government agencies and promoting transparency within the non-profit sector.
To be eligible for Darpan registration, a trust must be legally registered in India under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, or applicable state laws, and it must be actively engaged in charitable or non-profit activities. Additionally, the trust needs a valid PAN card in its name, a working bank account, and must not be involved in political activities.
